CURATOR'S NOTE
Made in floral hand-screen-printed cotton silk, the Taya Raglan Top drapes gently along the style lines, with soft gathers that create a flowing, airy rhythm. Raglan sleeves lend lightness, while a subtle back opening ensures comfort and ease of movement. Every element—from the delicate binding details at the sleeve to the finished seams—has been carefully executed over hours of skilled labour, making this top a refined celebration of timeless elegance and quiet artistry. It's adorned with mother of pearl buttons.
Note: The occasional irregularity in color, shade and print are characteristic of the hand made process. Each and every piece is as individual and distinct as you are. They are not to be treated as defects.
THE DESIGNER STORY
Inspired by the Japanese ideology of wabi-sabi, referring to that which is imperfect, impermanent, aged, humble and authentic, Ahmev carries an aesthetic that embraces the value of the passing of time, the seasoning of time and the elements, the handmade and the simple. Wabi-sabi is a way of being open to emotions and of acceptance; a state of mind and a state of feeling. The philosophy of wabi sabi is embodied in the design process, being showcased in the finished designs through the subtle hues, natural materials, frayed edges and the visible stitching and asymmetry.
