Minimal Waste CURATOR'S NOTE
The Sky Patchwork Trench is a sophisticated statement piece with a luxe, zero-waste design: luxurious patches and a comfortable fit combine to create a tailored garment that exudes effortless elegance. Finished with an adjustable belt and side pockets, this trench embraces style and sustainability.
The piece is Upcycled using factory waste. The fabric is collected, cleaned, panelled to create this style. Each piece may come with an extra embroidery or patch but the overall look and feel of the piece are not changed. These pieces are a part of a limited edition collection, the stock is made till the raw material is available.
This product is made in Delhi with a fair wage factory. Scrap fabric post production is collected, cleaned and patched. Allowing us to reduce waste generation and manage factory waste by upcycling scraps into patchwork fabric. Zero resources are used in fabric processing and dyeing. Just good ol' artisanal skills to put waste to use!
THE DESIGNER STORY
Recycling has always been a deeply rooted tradition and part of our lives, be it the tradition of making Kantha quilts out of the old clothing or transforming your mother's vintage sarees into a trendy attire. We have always valued the resources we had and loved to be a part of it and felt connected to the old charm and warmth, but all that is changing. Increasing industrialization, globalization, fast fashion, and ever-growing buying power among people have popularized a culture of quick disposable fashion.
The label DOODLAGE is a blend of sustainable and exclusive high street fashion. The brand aims to merge innovative designs with a sustainable technique of clothing to make fashion not just chic, but also Eco-friendly. The brand works at re-designing, re-constructing and recycling good quality industrial waste which majority comprises of post-production waste, deadstock and rejected shipments making sure that every product has its own identity.
THE FINE PRINT
Fabric: Main fabric is created with embroidering factory scraps into a design. Inner lining is used from smaller factory waste and can vary drastically with each jacket. Color: Shades of Blue. Print on the patches can vary.Delivery: 10-15 Days
Care Instructions: Machine wash in temperature under 40°C. Spot cleaning or mild hand wash. Hang dry. Avoid drying in direct sunlight as colours may fade.
